With a long tradition of accessing the ESRF, the main subjects of research from the BAG groups include protein/DNA complexes, components of viruses, molecular machines, molecular mechanisms of proteases and other enzymes, de-novo design of protein scaffolds and development of crystallopgrahic methods. In this new period, three new research groups have joined the bag: Ferruz lab, Eckhard lab and Guerin lab. The scientific outcomes of all of the groups strongly depend on the acces to high performance beamlines from which to be able to retrieve high-quality structural data. The ESRF offers precisely this together with the exceptional support from their all their scientific staff .
